A great financial transaction for the Elicha family, but linked to a 3-year non-competition clause. Never mind, that leaves time to think about a new concept and that's how the sons of Tony and Georgette, Alexandre, Laurent and then Raphaël launched The Kooples in 2008. A launch that did not go unnoticed since, after several weeks of teasing in magazines in the summer, several boutiques opened their doors simultaneously at the start of the school year in Paris.

While Comptoir des Cotonniers highlighted the mother-daughter relationship in its communication, the Elicha family uses the same recipe for The Kooples, but featuring... couples! “False couples” bringing together models, at first, then renowned lovers including Éric Cantona and Rachida Brakni, Frédéric Beigbeder and Lara or, since 2021, Vincent Cassel and Tina Kunakey.

Our opinion on The Kooples

We talked about the rock universe that permeates the brand's visuals. This is also true in terms of the style of clothing, where leather is often present, for example. But, in a more general way, The Kooples collections are distinguished by globally refined silhouettes, where black and white are often associated.

The result is often elegant (especially for suits and pants), with beautiful cuts and beautiful fabrics. On the other hand, who says "fashionable brand" also says "high prices" and this is the case for many pieces: 75€ for a t-shirt, 145€ for a shirt... But for lovers of glam' style premium rock, The Kooples remains a very good alternative!

We really like the basics offered by The Kooples, especially the white shirts, perfectly cut, not too transparent, comfortable.
