A specialist in transport infrastructure, Colas has won two contracts for a total of 33 million euros as part of the project to extend the T3 line of the Paris tramway.

This section is expected to come into service at the end of 2023, according to Colas.

The first contract covers execution studies, railway laying work and infrastructure works, amounting to 29 million euros, while the second contract concerns the design and construction of the Aerial Contact line (LAC) as well as line traction equipment for work of 4 million euros.

A challenge for teams

Colas remporte deux contrats pour l'extension du tramway T3

"this new extension represents a real challenge for the teams who will be operating on busy traffic routes on a daily basis. Logistical supply and crossing of certain intersections will have to be carefully considered in order to minimise the impact on traffic," said Jean-François Milleron, Managing Director France of Colas Rail.

Colas Rail had built the entire track on the previous sections of the T3, the last of which was inaugurated in November 2018.In 2020, Colas had a turnover of 12.3 billion euros.
