After appearing all smiles in a white two-piece swimsuit, Clémence Botino paraded in a semi-transparent and sparkling evening dress. But it is above all his tribute to Joséphine Baker that won over spectators and Internet users. In homage to the recently pantheonized American singer, actress and magazine leader, the Guadeloupean wore a lingerie set adorned with rhinestones and bananas and embellished with white feathers.
"A great lady", according to the young woman. “She was an activist, a feminist, she fought for equality between women and men. She's a black woman too, we have that connection too. She is a woman who has a real message of peace, she was also Jewish. I am proud because there is a real message behind this costume. She was an artist who deeply loved her art. I wanted to represent a very modern Joséphine, with lots of nods to her costumes, ”she told LCI at the end of November.
