Song JiA sits down with Dispatch to explain herself

On January 29, Dispatch conducted an exclusive interview with Song JiA (Song Ji Ah) to clarify everything after the controversy over the use of counterfeit items.
Dispatch asserted that Freesia is not a criminal who sells "fake" as "authentic". However Dispatch conducted this interview because the public is particularly strict with Freesia, she is labeled as "fake" and kicked out of "YouTube" and despite her apologies and self-criticism she continues to be attacked.
Song JiA lowered her head, “I don't know. Everything is my fault. When I was misunderstood as using luxury products, I should have corrected it immediately… I thought to myself “It's okay if I'm pretty”. I was wrong. I don't want to make excuses. »
Freesia (26) is not a “star” that appeared overnight. While in her second year (2017) of Hanyang University's dance department, she started part-time work as a model for online stores. She has worked as a model for a variety of product categories including beauty, fashion and food.
She met actress Kang Ye Won and signed a contract in 2018. They then opened a YouTube channel called “Song JiA” in August 2019 and regularly uploaded 2 videos/week.
“I have a promise with Yewon unnie. No matter what, I will upload 2 videos per week. At first, there were no reactions. However, I regularly upload videos. I kept my promise to upload 2 episodes a week for 2 years.
"I became famous overnight thanks to 'Single's Inferno'. I thought it was the result of 2 years of constant effort. But it all turned “fake” after just one day. Of course, I can't blame anyone." – says Song JiA
Song JiA started to explain, "I was ignorant." Couldn't there be a reason for her to buy counterfeit products and wear them? They asked him again. She replied, “I bought them just because they looked good. I received it as a gift. I wore the Van Cleef necklace only because it looked so pretty. I bought it without knowing that it was a fake”. Song JiA reiterated that it was all caused by his "ignorance".
Song JiA said, “I was too complacent. […] I have no choice but to blame myself. In the case of the Saint Laurent dress, I had a chance to correct my mistake… But I ignored it. ".
About the Dior bag, Song JiA said, “This bag is a fake. I bought it at a newsstand six years ago. I was walking around with my friends and it was just pretty (so I bought it). I shouldn't have done that while taking photos for the “Dior” perfume… I was really narrow-minded. It was frivolous. ”
Referring to the Louis Vuitton shoes she gave her father as a gift, Dispatch asked if the sneakers were also “fake,” Freesia looked up “It absolutely isn't,” he said. she declared.
“These shoes are Louis Vuitton. Internet users say it's a model that only sells in France, but I don't know what that means. I bought it from Shinsegae Centum two years ago (2020), but they keep saying it…” – added Song JiA.
For example, for the Saint Laurent dress she wore in “Video Star”, some media even published articles titled “Saint Laurent dress worn by Song JiA”. At that time, she did not think of correcting this.
Song JiA replied, “I really regret that part. I thought, “They really think this is a Saint Laurent item,” and I kinda ignored the items. I think I confused it with “People will think it's a luxury item just because I wear it”. I'm so sorry about that.”
Song JiA has worn over 300 outfits in 237 videos. (She also posted 1,151 photos on her Instagram). Over 500 items have been worn by her, including shoes, bags and accessories.
Dispatch investigated 20 of the controversial articles. They also contacted the Korea Luxury Appraisal Board to verify the authenticity of these products. Accordingly, they summarized the verification results, Song JiA's explanation, and netizens' suspicions.

6. Van Cleef & Arpels necklace and earrings: Several YouTube videos, Single's Inferno (2021.12)
▶ Suspicion of Internet users: In the case of the necklace, the position of the chain and the pendant are different. They say the necklace is fake, so there is a high probability that the earrings are also fake.
▶ Fact check: Song Jia admits that this is a fake. “It's a product that I received as a gift when I was young,” she explains. She revealed that she bought the 'Vancle St' earrings directly from the mall. She apologized in advance saying, "I don't know if that's wrong."
7. Chanel Scarf: Youtube (2020.01.17)
▶ Suspicion of Internet users: "The location of the logo is different", "The size is small", "The thickness is thin", "The quilting is strange", "There is no Chanel label", "The color of the lining is different", etc.
▶ Fact check: According to Song Jia, the product was a gift from a friend. “After the counterfeit product controversy, my friend (who gave me a gift) called me directly,” she said.

▶ Fact check: She admitted it was wrong. In the case of the cardigan, it was provided at the time of the video shoot for the “XBly” brand. The product is sold for 24,930 won at the mall.
“I knew the cropped t-shirt was fake, but I bought it because it looked cute. At that time, I didn't know much about counterfeiting… I didn't know if the cardigan was Chanel style. I couldn't tell if it was an imitation because it was the clothes I had chosen at the "XBly" mall.
9. Corset and skirt in Gucci: Instagram (2021.01.09)
▶ Suspicion of Internet users: The details are different from the genuine article. Compared to the fashion show photos, there is a difference in the width of the leather part and the exposure of the corset.
▶ Fact check: Photo session with the “Gucci” brand. In other words, costumes and accessories directly sponsored by Gucci. Song Jia returned all related products after filming.
10. Moncler coat, and Louis Vuitton: Youtube (2020.12.29)
▶ Suspicion of Internet users: the video of the Montclair velvet coat, and Louis Vuitton and the Louis Vuitton jersey dress has been deleted. Netizens think that "deleted video = admitting it's wrong".
▶ Fact check: The Louis Vuitton coat was purchased for 4.6 million won from the road shop on October 8, 2020. The Moncler was purchased for 5.57 million won from the Lotte department store on November 9, 2020. The dress Louis Vuitton was purchased for 3 million won from the Shinsegae Centum store on August 18, 2020. The reason the video was deleted is because of the Dior Bag (fake product).

▶ Suspicion of Internet users: If you take a closer look, it is obviously a fake. The shape of the curve looks so different. The letter "I" is also written backwards.
▶ Fact check: Song JiA did not purchase the product herself. The styling team prepared her as a prop for a mall photo shoot. She explained, "I didn't pay attention to it, that's because it was a filming prop."
15. Chanel tie strap, Fendi pants: Instagram (2019.07.17 / 2019.12.18)
▶ Suspicion of netizens: Logo spacing, font size and materials. Fendi logo pants don't exist at all.
▶ Fact check: The Chanel tether strap was a prop for a cosmetics brand photo shoot. Fendi pants were also bought for a mall photoshoot. Both were prepared by the styling team. It is impossible to verify the authenticity of these products.

▶ Fact Check: The dress was sponsored by an online store. She chose her because she was pretty. The top was purchased for 23,000 won from another online store.
Song Ji-ah shared, “At that time, I didn't know the Marine Serre brand. When I double-checked the receipt, it said "Marine Half-Necktie." I had no idea this Marine was this fake. I was so ignorant.”
17. Saint Laurent Dress and Alexander Wang Top+Skirt: Youtube (2021.06.18), Video Star (2021.09.14), Instagram post (2021.12.22)
