The Cora brand is entering the second-hand textile market. Thanks to their new “My second-hand dressing room” corner, customers can buy second-hand items in the chain's hypermarkets. Here's how you can sell your old clothes through the store.

The Cora chain launches into the sale of second-hand clothes. To do this, it has created corners called “Mon dressing d'occasion(s)” in all its stores. The dedicated space is located among the textile shelves but is marked out to be easily recognizable.

Buy and sell

In concrete terms, Cora customers can now go to “My second-hand dressing room” to buy second-hand clothes for women or children. The price is unique depending on the type of item (3€ for a top, 8€ for a dress or jeans). A way for customers to find their way around easily and label quickly. Payment is made at the checkout as usual.

To sell your clothes, simply download the Mon dressing d'occasion(s) application or register on the website (www.mondressingcora.com) and follow the procedure online. Specific bags are provided in Cora stores for the collection of clothing. Customers then receive €5 on their Cora card per bag filled with clean clothes in good condition

Consume differently

“Choice and proximity have always been Cora's two great strengths. More than ever, we must remain attentive to the needs of our customers and the concerns of today. It is therefore important for us to position ourselves and offer our customers the possibility of consuming differently! With this in mind, we have chosen to allocate part of our retail space to the second-hand market,” says Olivier Haller, Managing Director of Cora Belux.

To implement this new concept, Cora has been collaborating for several months with Patatam, a Basque company, European leader in second-hand processing since 2013. The advantage of this platform is to ensure the collection, sorting and recovery of clothes that consumers part with.

Responsible projects

"My second-hand dressing room(s)" has just been added to a whole series of responsible projects implemented in recent months at Cora. Partnerships with: "Cash Converters" for the sale and purchase of second-hand items, "Too good to go" to limit food waste, "Shopopop" to promote the pooling of shopping between neighbors and "Neighboring producers to promote short circuits.
