French and hygiene: a study shows that we can do better

Carried out for Diogenes France (a clear -leggy and cleaning company), IFOP revealed the results of a study* on the hygiene of the French. So, are we clean?Do pictures still have a hard life?Let us reassure ourselves, since a similar first survey carried out in 1951 for Elle magazine, and a second thirty-five years later, there is progress. We will also note that, overall, women are more neat than men (and the elderly or isolated).

If 76 % of French people are washing every day, there is still a certain gap between men who carry out a "complete daily toilet" at 71 % against 81 % in women. If it is not necessarily advisable to take a shower or a bath every day (but it is important to wash your hands and face), respectively 5 and 4 % are content to do it...once a week.

It's clean (or not)!

For what is to wash your hair, 29 % of men do it every day against only 8 % in women. Globalement, 96 % des Français le font "au moinsonce a week".If there are no rules in this area (too shampooing can alter the good health of your scalp), hair experts advise to do so that 2 to 3 times a week, thing that do 28 % of menand 41 % of women.

As for hand wash - the base!- behaviors are still not at the top...On average, 71 % of French people go through the sink box after going to the toilet (75 % among women, 68 % in men), 67 % before cooking, and only 25 % after having stained! In these winter times when viruses proliferate, it is frankly not reasonable. Finally, the question: how often do you change underwear?Every day ?Not really...If women are 94 % to assert change their panties "every day" (this figure was only 17 % in 1951), they are only 73 % in men.Whoops.

*Carried out by self-administered online questionnaire from January 31 to February 3, 2020 with a sample of 2,005 people, representative of the population aged 18 and over in mainland France.
