The UTMB World Series strengthens its circuit with two new events.

Two UTMB® World Series Majors have been confirmed in Europe and Asia-Pacific for the 2022/23 season, which will give runners a better chance of reaching the UTMB® World Series Finals in Chamonix in 2023. In the United States, the chosen event will be revealed at a later date. - 24 international events are now confirmed for the UTMB® World Series 2022, while the full calendar of 30 events will be announced at the beginning of the year --Here is the latest press release:

American runners will be able to live the UTMB® adventure and start their quest for the UTMB® Mont-Blanc directly from the United States, since two exceptional events in North America are joining the UTMB® World Series circuit. Organizers of the world's premier trail running circuit have also announced new events for European runners, with additional events confirmed in Croatia and Slovenia.

In the United States, Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB® in California will bring runners together along the historic Western States Trail, while the Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB® in Utah will challenge runners against one of the most difficult 50 km in the country.

In Central Europe, Croatia's premier trail running event, Istria 100 by UTMB®, will put runners to the test on a course as beautiful as it is demanding. The Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB® event will immerse runners in the wilderness of the highest mountains in Slovenia.

Two UTMB® World Series Majors events confirmed in Spain and Hong Kong

From July 7 to 10, 2022, Val d'Aran by UTMB® will become the first European UTMB® World Series Majors event for the 2022/23 season. The event invites runners to discover the Spanish Pyrenees across four distances - 161km, 105km, 55km and 15km - and welcomed, in its first edition in 2021, more than 3,000 runners from 75 different nationalities. TransLantau™ by UTMB® - a premier race in Hong Kong - has been confirmed as the 2022/23 Asia-Pacific UTMB® World Series Majors. The event will offer from November 3 to 6, 2022, four races on Lantau Island ranging from 25 km to the new distance of 140 km. The perfect opportunity for runners to escape the city and experience the unspoiled nature of Hong Kong. In the Americas, the 2022/23 UTMB® World Series Major event will be confirmed in the coming months. It will take place in the first half of 2023 and will qualify for the first edition of the UTMB® World Series Finals in Chamonix, in August 2023. The UTMB® World Series Majors allow the 10 best runners to qualify for the UTMB® World Series Finals men's and women's in each of the 50K, 100K and 100M categories. Amateur runners will collect twice as many Running Stones compared to UTMB® World Series Events, increasing their chances of being selected in the UTMB® Mont-Blanc 2023 draw.

In the footsteps of ultra-running pioneers with the Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB® on the historic Western States Trail.

On April 23, 2022, Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB® will bring together runners in the birthplace of ultra-running, in Auburn, California. Participants will experience the most scenic and challenging trails of the iconic Western States Trail as they travel up to 4572 meters of elevation gain through famous canyons.

The UTMB World Series strengthens its circuit with two new events.

Runners will be able to admire along rugged trails, superb panoramas of the Sierras and the canyons, while crossing magnificent forests of oaks and pines in rapid descents and steep climbs. Crossing streams and old wooden bridges, passing through historical remains dating from the time of the gold rush in California, the Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB® are a real journey through time, in the footsteps of the pioneers ultra running.

The Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB®: a major challenge in Utah in a spectacular environment

Organized on the slopes of the Snowbird ski resort in Utah, the Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB® has a reputation as one of the toughest 50k races in the United States. Participants will find steep climbs, unique and rocky terrain, lots of elevation and blue skies accompanied by breathtaking views and wildflowers of the Wasatch mountain range. This emblematic race, named after the famous American runner, founder of the Speedgoat, Karl Metzler, offers several challenges: a 13 km, a 28 km and the legendary 50 km, with nearly 3657 meters of elevation gain - most of which above 2743 meters above sea level. Held in July 2022, the race will celebrate its 15th anniversary next year. Registration will open in January on the event website here.

Istria 100 by UTMB®: a challenge as beautiful as it is demanding

Istria 100 by UTMB® is the biggest trail race in Croatia. From April 7-10, 2022, more than 2,000 runners will travel to the heart-shaped peninsula of Istria in northwest Croatia to take on this challenge.

Runners will have the choice between a 100 miles, a 128 km, a 68 km and 40 km and a new 20 km. The 100 miles is a test as beautiful as it is demanding. Riders can expect technical terrain, old medieval towns, dense forests, muddy valleys and even a bit of climbing and swimming along the coast with breathtaking views stretching all the way to the Adriatic Sea. Participants can look forward to a journey through the most picturesque parts of Istria. Information regarding the opening of registrations is available on the event website.

A treasure trove of beauty on the Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB®

Slovenia's main trail running race, Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB®, takes place in unspoiled nature and offers runners the opportunity to explore the exceptional trails of the highest mountains in the country. The event is named after the mountain range on which it takes place, and combines accessible mountain paths and trails with more technical portions and promises a unique experience for each participant.

With Slovenia's highest peak, Mount Triglav, at the heart of the event, runners in the 170km, 100km and 60km will discover a treasure trove of beauty including scenic Alpine valleys, the dazzling shores of Lake Bled and the emerald green beauty of the Soča River. Distances of 10 km, 15 km and 30 km are also offered, making the event a real trail running party for everyone.

The race is organized from September 16 to 18, 2022 around the alpine resort of Kranjska Gora, in northwestern Slovenia. Registration is now open on the event website.
